Festive Illuminations
The Illuminations at Old Down Estate are back and better than ever for 2024. A magical sensory experience that lights the beauty of our Country Park. This year our after dark event will feature themed areas, from our Ice Kingdom to Fairy Land and Rainbows! The immersive experience will guide you around Od Down Estate and surround you with music, colour and light with interactive areas along the way. A truly magical Christmas experience for children and adults to explore.
Our Festive Village will be making a return this year, complete with Crumble Station, Hot Chocolate Station and marshmallow toasting! You will also get the chance to meet some of our animals along the way and get creative at our craft station.
This year we are bringing back our ‘Quieter Sessions’ on our Monday evening illumination events. These sessions will feature reduced noise and less capacity to appeal to anyone who would prefer a calmer experience.
We are a dog friendly venue and dogs are more than welcome to join you on this magical trial. We simply ask you keep all dogs on a lead and clean up any mess after them.
Avoid disappointment and book in advance as this event is likely to sell out; slots available from 16.30pm.

- Please keep to the trail route and adhere to directions from our marshals
- Our First Aid points are located in our Ticket Office and Café
- Please use the bins provided.
- Our team are available throughout the trail to guide you and answer any questions

Our Country Park and Estate site closes at 4pm. Access for our Illumination event starts from 4.30pm (subject to booked entry time) with no visitors onsite between 4-4.30pm.
